So how do I make these web sites? It's a fairly simple process. Like any project, it starts with the planning process. By following the steps to the planning process, we can greatly decrease the amount of work that needs to be done. For more information on the planning process, visit this page on quickmba.com about the planning process.
Step 1: Preliminary Consultation
Now the easiest way for me to start out with the planning process is to arrange a consultation with the client to discover what needs to be done. This is the part where I determine what your goals are as a company and how you hope the project will help your company. At this stage I can often throw out a generic price range. The consultation usually takes place in a public place such as a lunch meeting or the clients store. During this meeting I will also answer any questions the client may have. Of course, this meeting also determines whether or not we will do further business.
Step 2: Research
This step is also considered the environmental scan, if you're following quickmba's planning process. At this step, I will research your company, competitors, general market, and your customers. The information I gather will help me decide what will increase the effectiveness of your project.
Step 3: Presentation / Pre-Design
At this point, I will have gathered enough information to give a more accurate price and show some ideas for the project. At this step, a deposit may be required to continue work (varies by case). Once everything is decided, the actual project work begins.
Step 4: Design / Implementation
Time to make the designs and put them to use. Everything will be created and tied together. Once the design is finished, it will be published and monitored.
Step 5: Evaluation
Since everything has been finished, there is only one thing left to do. Determine the successfulness of the project towards our goals. Once evaluated, we will make appropriate adjustments and continue to evaluate the project.
Web Design - Additional Information
Once a web site is completed, a program called Adobe Contribute will be set up so that the client can modify the web site without fear of messing it up. For more information on Adobe Contribute, visit the adobe website.
