Bucket List - Wednesday, November 26, 2008
Update: Been working on this list! Started taking ballroom dance studios at Roland's Dance Studio. So far, has been fun. I've learned a good bit of East Coast Swing, ChaCha, Rumba, Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, and Salsa.
Inspired by that movie "The Bucket List"; even though it was too slow paced for me to watch it all the way through. I decided it would be a good idea to make a list of stuff I want to do before I die. (No i'm not dieing.) So here's my list so far and I'll be working on getting more ideas. Suggestions for more are strongly encouraged.
- Skydive
- Basejump
- Give away a large amount of money
- Change someone's life (for the better).
- Snowmobile
- Dirtbike (Over a big jump)
- Learn lots of dances
- Gymnastics (Don't hate. Just want to be able to do flips and stuff :D)
- Surfing
- Diving
- Race at a circuit track
- Visit every state in the United States
- Visit Europe
- Visit Australia
- Help people overseas
- Make a bike out of wood
Leave - Tuesday, June 17, 2008
So far, leave has been up and down. So far it's been a lot of me by myself all day while everyone else is at work. There's been some activities, but I'm still searching for entertainment...
First Day Back
Soon as I got back, I went to my mother's work place. I was going to surprise her by going in the back way and calling her office and getting them to lure her away. At that point I was going to slip into her chair and wait till she came back. Unfortunately, some asshole was tailgating me on the way to her work so I turned off down the front road... Was no point in sneaking since she can see right out the window. Afterwards, I drove home to my mom's new house.
The First Week
The first week consisted a lot of soccer and football in our backyard with my little brother. I visited my friend Bekah and did a little biking. I offered a car shop a web site in exchange for some sound equipment. (See the site here) They declined for now saying maybe in a few months when they are busier. Oh well, was worth a shot. I also watched "The Happening" with Annie, who I just met and seems pretty interesting. She's thinking about joining the Army and one of the few who are doing it for the right reasons. Anyways, "The Happening" is a pretty retarded movie which I don't really recommend unless you're thinking about committing suicide. The is no real solution to the problem in the movie and all that ever happens is people commit suicide.... Except once, a few people got murdered because the murderer thought he would commit suicide if they came near him.... heh... Anyway, I give it a 1 out of 10. Boo.
Second Week

I am currently 2 days into the second week. The last two days consisted mainly of biking. We decided that we are going to Cedar Point on Thursday. I've got an idea for that too, but it's uncertain as of yet what I will do. I went biking today in my new shorts and shirt. They stayed clean the entire time I was biking, even though I fell several times and gashed two different parts of my legs. I got some decent pictures out of it at least!
That's all i've done so far though, hoping to have some more fun before I head back to base!
A New Beginning - Thursday, June 5, 2008
Well, it seems that I am starting to turn the page in this book! The last t-ball and soccer games are this weekend as well. I am expecting to come back full swing after block leave, since we are suppose to start training. I'm also suppose to start college at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. I am pondering a decision down the road a few years as well. Once I complete my college courses, I should have enough credit to become an officer. So, my choices are to one: become an officer and add some time on to my enlistment contract, or two: get out of the army, take advantage of va loans and government grants and start up my old computer business full blast.
As for leave, here is what it looks like I will be doing:
1.) Driving home (That's about one day)
2.) Going to Cedar Point and spending a night or two in a hotel there.
3.) Going BMXing a little bit.
4.) Seeing old friends and hanging out with family.
5.) Attending a wedding (not my wedding...)
6.) Coming back (Bringing my bike and snowboard back!)
After leave is up, I will also be nearing my 21st birthday. My platoon and squad gives me a hard time a lot because I don't drink alcohol at all. Right now, my plans for my 21st birthday are to go out with my squad and get drunk. After my birthday, I will not be drinking again. I bet this will only make their nagging worse, but oh well. I will admit alcohol clears up my sinuses and complexion, but my family has a history of addiction, and being around it reminds me of my father.
T-Ball Picture Day - Sunday, May 11, 2008
T-ball turned out to be a joke this week... Unfortunately the joke was on me... It turned out only 3 people showed up for picture day on Tuesday. Needless to say, it ended up being canceled. Thursday I had a record 4 players at practice... Then Saturday, the team was there, but the majority were just barely on time or late. Looks like I have some phone calls to make... Sigh..
Picture Day - Tuesday, May 06, 2008
So I have been coaching youth sports for the last few weeks. I must admit it is frustrating at times, but it can be fun as hell. My kids are 5 and 6 year olds which are known to have a very short attention span. (Believe me it is true.) I've learned the biggest thing with coaching is patience. I've found myself running into a few odd situations already though. For example, a girl on my soccer team seems to have a crush on me... While it seems obvious now that could happen... I did not even think about something like that until I was confronted with it... Today is picture day for t-ball, yesterday was soccer picture day. Hoping for a good remainder for the season.
Youth sports coaching will begin in the next few weeks and will last throughout May. I am going to be coaching practices monday through thursday. The gym they have me working at at the moment is nice enough to let me take time out at lunch to go and coach the practices. Then Saturday is the games. I originally signed up to coach just soccer, but ended up coaching soccer and t-ball.
